My grandmother, my mother's mother, is currently battling Alzheimer's. There's highs and lows. My mother is amazing for all she does for her and sees the daily struggle. My grandmother is pretty good with her long term memory, and knows all of her family, but it breaks my heart that even though she attended my wedding 2 years ago, every time my husband and I visit she has no idea who he is and we go through introductions multiple times in one visit. I will get random phone calls from her and she has no idea why she called me, but I enjoy hearing her voice and just chatting with her.
